Doctor Yz Diabetes Center was founded by Dr. Youssef Al-Sheikh Zohar (Doctor Yz).

Vision

A modern diabetes health and healing center that 1) Integrates conventional diabetes treatments with natural complementary and alternative diabetes treatments; and 2) Follows a holistic aproach that looks at the patient as a whole.

 Biography:

Highlights

  • Studied and conducted research at the University of Utah Departments of Biology, Biophysics and Bioengineering, where Noble Prize Laureate Biophysicist Mario Capecchi, PhD taught and headed advanced genetic research. Mario Capecchi is the protégé of James Watson, PhD, the scientist who also won the Noble Prize for discovering the DNA.
  • Was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Utah Biomedical Informatics Department and was taught by the researchers who discovered the breast cancer genes BRCA 1 and BRCA 2, which were later patented at Myriad Genetics.
  • Was mentored by Homer R. Warner, MD, PhD, who is the father of the field of medical informatics and a Noble Prize nominee.
